This is an hourly/wage position and is not entitled to the Commonwealth of Virginia's state benefits package. This position is limited to no more than 1500 hours in a 12-month period and averages no more than 29 hours a week.
The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS), Division of Family Services is currently seeking a part-time Birth Father Registry Specialist. This position is responsible for managing the Virginia Birth Father Registry database and publicizes the Virginia Birth Father Registry. Duties include responding to inquiries regarding the Birth Father Registry, performing searches of the registry, collecting and analyzing data, and providing information to the public regarding the registry.
The Birth Father Registry Specialist collaborates with internal and external partners on public media activities and attends events to promote awareness of the birth father registry. The position will also serve as the back-up for the Adoption Records Specialist.
Minimum Qualifications- Working knowledge of child welfare services/programs to include adoptions.
- Demonstrated experience collecting, analyzing and interpreting data to measure outputs and outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience developing, preparing and editing correspondence, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations.
- Demonstrated experience preparing, generating and submitting monthly and quarterly statistical reports.
- Public speaking and marketing experience.
- Experience working with automated systems.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, multi-task, organize, prioritize and manage workload; attend to details.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies/procedures/guidelines.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with varied level of internal and external customers.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as a team members.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply state and federal laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
