SCHEDULE:
Primarily overnight and weekend on-call coverage
Applicant must be located in Knox or Daviess County, Indiana.
The Hope's Voice Advocate provides after-hours crisis response, victim assistance, and case management services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and related crimes. This position primarily covers overnight and weekend on-call shifts, ensuring survivors have access to advocacy outside standard business hours. The Advocate responds by dispatch to survivors in community, hospital, law enforcement, and legal settings rather than a fixed office environment.
The Advocate serves as a frontline representative of Hope's Voice and coordinates closely with law enforcement, healthcare, prosecution, and community partners.
- Provide overnight and weekend on-call coverage for the Hope's Voice Hotline as the primary function of this position, responding to calls and dispatches within required response times
- Respond in person, as dispatched, to hospitals, law enforcement agencies, and other field locations to support survivors during after-hours crisis events
- Provide crisis intervention to survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) and sexual assault (SA); crisis response is a shared responsibility across all Hope's Voice team members
- Conduct danger and lethality assessments and develop and document individualized safety plans
- Assist survivors in understanding their rights and remedies, obtaining emergency protective orders, and accessing Victim Assistance
- Document all after-hours contacts and transition survivors to daytime advocacy staff for ongoing case management and follow-up
- Provide case management services in coordination with daytime advocacy staff, including needs assessment, goal planning, and follow-up
- Coordinate referrals to community partners for housing, healthcare, childcare, education, employment, financial services, and other specialized assistance
- Provide services without regard to gender, race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, or lifestyle
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with law enforcement, prosecutors, healthcare providers, courts, financial services, and social service agencies
- Represent Hope's Voice and CFS, Corp. positively in all community interactions and promote awareness of available services
- Participate in outreach activities and community events as assigned
- Maintain accurate, timely records, including case notes, data collection, incident reports, and statistical reporting required by ICJI, ICADV, and other funders and regulators
- Complete all data entry in applicable systems consistent with program requirements
- Maintain strict confidentiality for all survivors, volunteers, and families in accordance with applicable law and organizational policy
- Adhere to VAWA, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2 (where applicable), Joint Commission standards, and CFS, Corp. policies and procedures
- Stay current on trauma-informed care, IPV and sexual assault dynamics, and evidence-based prevention strategies
- Maintain required certifications and attend all mandatory training, staff meetings, and professional development as assigned
