The student who fills this position will assist the Computational Research Center – Systems Administration team with supporting UND’s high performance computing research clusters, on-prem cloud systems, and high-performance storage systems.
Duties & Responsibilities- Creation of new accounts
- On-boarding new users
- Installing libraries
- Compiling software
- Creating docker/singularity containers
- Performance analysis
- Other duties as assigned
- Previous experience using computers that run the Linux operating system.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment.
- Previous experience using Linux Terminal and BASH or similar terminal shell.
- Previous experience with Linux server system administration.
- Previous experience programming/scripting with one or more of the following programming languages:
Python, C++, Fortran, PHP, Java, C#, ECMAScript, or similar - Previous experience compiling C++ and Fortran software applications in Linux environments
- Previous experience creating/setting up virtual servers and containerized environments.
