We are looking for a talented Principal Software Engineer to join our Global Technology Data & Artificial Intelligence (D&AI) organization to guide and influence multiple engineering teams to deliver scalable data and analytics solutions, implement new technologies, participate in solution design and architecture discussions. The ideal candidate will have outstanding communication skills, proven data design and implementation capabilities, strong eye for business, and a drive to deliver results.

The person in this role will be technically proficient and excel at collaborating with engineers, analysts, and business partners. This person will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, and will enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

In this role, you will build and deliver scalable data and analytics solutions focused on Nike Direct, Supply Chain, and Commercial space. You will design, implement and integrate new technologies and evolve data and analytics products. You will contribute to all aspects of data and software engineering from ingestion, transformation, and consumption in addition to designing and building test-driven development, reusable frameworks, automated workflows, and libraries at scale to support analytics products.

You will also participate in architecture and design discussions to process and store high-volume data sets.

As a Principal Software Engineer within D&AI organization, you will work with a diverse team of engineers, architects, product leaders, data scientists, and data governance partners to design and deliver scalable, reliable platforms that power Nike’s most critical digital and data products. Reporting to the Senior Director Engineering, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders across product, architecture, AI/ML, and governance to support a wide range of experiences—from  and the Nike App to supply chain, retail, and marketing systems—impacting millions of consumers worldwide.

Your work will help unify data and AI capabilities across domains, enabling use cases from business intelligence to advanced machine learning, while ensuring governance compliance, breaking down silos, and driving alignment across globally distributed teams and leadership levels throughout Global Technology.

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.

10+ years experience as a software engineer, data engineer, or architect building, designing and coding in a distributed data management systems for a large-scale data architecture, including data lakes, data warehouses, and cloud-based solutions.

5+ years experience working with Hadoop and Big Data processing frameworks (Spark, Hive, NiFi, Spark-Streaming, Flink, etc.).

Strong hands-on experience with proficiency in modern data technologies and tools, such as Spark, SQL, No

SQL, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
