Overview

Agility Partners is seeking a qualified Software Engineer to fill an open position with one of our clients in the banking industry. This is an exciting opportunity to build new features on an agile squad while improving customer experiences and strengthening platform reliability. You’ll implement capabilities using modern engineering practices, collaborate through communities of practice, and contribute to continuous improvement. You’ll help ensure quality, security, and compliance while delivering value within a well‑governed environment.

Responsibilities
  • Implement new features and maintain overall software quality within an agile squad.
  • Participate in code reviews, share knowledge, and follow community best practices and standards.
  • Research and resolve customer issues while keeping current on relevant technology trends.
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation and support continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS or related field (or comparable experience) with ~0–5 years of software development.
  • Knowledge of object‑oriented design; experience with one or more languages (e.g., COBOL, SAS, or other open‑system languages).
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL; understanding of the full SDLC and secure development practices.
  • Experience with version control (preferably Git/Git Hub) and basic networking/firewall concepts.
  • Exposure to ETL or file movement via sFTP; familiarity with Snowflake tools (Elevate, Switchboard, DBT) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to follow policies and procedures within risk appetite.
  • Mindset of collaboration, learning, and standards compliance within communities of practice.
Must Have
  • Agile Business Analysis
  • Mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM
Nice To Have
  • Card processing solutions (TSYS, Mastercard)
  • Remote work will be allowed
  • SAS knowledge
  • Switchboard/DBT/Snowflake
