P&C Insurance Billing Administration System; BAS Developer

We are looking for an experienced BAS Developer with a background in Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance. Responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and integrating billing administration platforms while working closely with business analysts, QA, and product owners to deliver effective insurance solutions. This position is based out of our Home Office in Flint, Michigan with the current hybrid work schedule:

• Monday and Friday: optional WFH
• Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday: in-person at home office location

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain billing system components including invoicing, payments, commissions, and delinquency processing.
• Customize and configure BAS platforms (e.g., Guidewire).
• Integrate billing systems with policy, claims, general ledger, and third-party payment processors.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable code and perform unit/integration testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues and defects.

Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of experience in IT, with at least 2 years in BAS development.
• Hands-on experience with one or more BAS platforms (Guidewire, Duck Creek, etc.).
• Proficiency in C#, .NET and .NET Framework
• XML/XSLT/JSON
• Experience with REST/SOAP APIs and system integrations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server
• Familiarity with P&C insurance workflows and terminology.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
