Middle​/Senior Roku App Developer Ukraine

As a Roku App Developer , you will have the opportunity to lead the development of a new Roku application that extends an existing cross-platform OTT video platform. This platform connects media publishers with contributor-driven local content and simplifies video workflows for community teams by providing an end-to-end suite of tools for live streaming, post-production, and highlight distribution.

You will be responsible for developing a high-performance Roku app using BrightScript and Scene Graph, working in close collaboration with frontend and backend teams. The existing platform is built on React (Web), React Native (Mobile), and a backend stack including NodeJS, Graph

QL, and Mongo

DB. You’ll be joining a well-structured Agile environment with a high level of autonomy and accountability.

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of a new Roku app using BrightScript and Scene Graph
• Collaborate with other teams (React Web, React Native Mobile, Backend) to ensure platform-wide consistency and functionality
• Troubleshoot and resolve app issues related to performance, integration, and edge-case behavior
• Participate in sprint planning, standups, and code reviews in an Agile team environment
• Ensure code quality through testing, documentation, and best practices
• Proactively propose and implement improvements to enhance app performance and user experience

• BrightScript / Scene Graph (Roku)
• OTT Platforms (nice to have):
  Apple TV, Samsung Tizen, Google TV, Fire TV
• Related stack context (existing platform):

• Strong experience with BrightScript and Scene Graph development
• Comfortable taking ownership of end-to-end app development on the Roku platform
• Well-organized, confident, and reliable contributor in a distributed team
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum or Kanban environments
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with frontend and backend teams
• Good verbal communication skills in English
• Ukrainian language fluency is preferred but not required

• 3+ years of hands-on experience developing Roku applications using BrightScript / Scene Graph (required)
• Experience building or maintaining apps for other OTT platforms such as Apple TV, Tizen, Google TV, or Fire TV (nice to have)
• Experience integrating frontend applications with backend services and APIs (Graph
  
  QL, REST, etc.)
