Job Description:
At Abb Vie, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world, our iconic brands include Botox, Cool Sculpting, Juvéderm, and more. The medical aesthetics business is ripe for rapid growth and disruption, and we are looking for an experienced Staff Engineer to join our high-performing team to drive that growth.
Our team has successfully launched a new and innovative technology platform, Allē, serving millions of consumers, tens of thousands of aesthetics providers, and thousands of colleagues. Since its launch in November 2020, Allē has delivered curated promotions and personalized experiences. We are looking for a Staff Engineer as we prepare to launch a new array of game-changing technologies on our platform.
We operate in a startup-oriented environment while being backed by a very large company.
As the Staff Engineer, you will report to the Software Engineering Manager and collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to solve the most critical technical problems.
Responsibilities include working to ensure high-quality software delivery and aligning technology decisions with product goals.
Responsibilities- Champion code quality, reusability, scalability, security, and strategic software architecture decisions
- Mentor software engineers using code reviews, proven design patterns, and experience building large-scale public-facing software
- Collaborate with Product and Project Management to translate ideas into high-fidelity technical game plans and achieve product and business goals
- Contribute to hiring decisions; participate in evaluating potential hires with the team
- Relate to core values and contribute to a positive working environment and culture
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- At least 10+ years as a Full Stack Software Engineer
- Adept at drafting, validating, and implementing software systems architecture using modern development and deployment technologies
- Experience organizing and prioritizing tasks with Product and Project Management for a team of 4+ Engineers
- Strong experience with Type Script/JavaScript, React, and React Native (bonus)
- Experience with NestJS, Node.js
- Strong familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
- Proponent of code testing and familiar with common frameworks for unit, integration, and functional tests
- The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of posting, based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation within this range will depend on factors including geographic location, and the company may pay more or less than the posted range.
