Platform Software Engineer – Remote
Are you a backend engineer passionate about building the robust, scalable APIs that power life-changing technology? Speechify, the award-winning AI text-to-speech platform used by over 50 million people, is seeking a Platform Software Engineer to join our 100% distributed team. This is a core technical role where you will architect and maintain the backend services—including our public TTS API, payments, subscriptions, and analytics
—that enable users worldwide to read faster, learn more, and overcome barriers like dyslexia.

Your Mission:As a key member of the Platform team, you will design, build, and scale the critical backend infrastructure that serves millions of users and enterprise clients. You will ensure our APIs are performant, reliable, and capable of driving the next phase of growth for a revolutionary product.
Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs, including our public TTS API and internal services for payments, subscriptions, authentication, and consumption tracking.
Oversee and optimize the entire backend API landscape for performance, scalability, and maintainability, ensuring seamless integration with frontend applications.
Collaborate on developing customizable backend solutions and integrations to meet the specific needs of enterprise clients.
Work closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and AI research scientists to align backend architecture with product strategy and deliver exceptional user experiences.
Strong experience with Type Script and Node.js is required.
Direct hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and working knowledge of AWS or Azure.
Ability to prioritize tasks based on impact, ideate quickly, and implement solutions effectively in a dynamic environment.
Experience with
Docker and deploying high-availability applications on Kubernetes is a significant advantage.A strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and an obsession with winning and delivering results.
