Empower
ID is an established enterprise Identity Governance platform used by some of the world’s largest organizations. Our platform integrates with 50+ enterprise systems (Active Directory, Azure AD, SAP, Salesforce, and more) and processes millions of identity operations daily for Fortune 500 customers. We operate in environments where correctness, traceability, performance, and reliability are non-negotiable, and where systems evolve over years, not greenfield sprints.
We are hiring a Platform Software Engineer to help modernize and evolve our core enterprise platform. This is not a maintenance role and not a rewrite-from-scratch exercise. You will work on incremental, high-impact modernization — starting with observability and reliability, then expanding into messaging, data pipelines, and architectural improvements — while the platform continues to serve real customers ’ll bridge proven enterprise patterns with modern standards, shipping improvements that are measurable, deployable, and durable.
What You Will Do
Platform Modernization & Observability- Lead hands-on improvements to platform observability and reliability
- Introduce and evolve distributed tracing and telemetry using modern standards (Open Telemetry)
- Replace or augment legacy diagnostics patterns with production-grade observability tooling
- Improve cross-system correlation and traceability in complex enterprise workflows
- Contribute to the modernization of a large, mature .NET codebase (100K+ files)
- Help evolve messaging, data pipelines, and platform architecture incrementally
- Balance ideal architecture with what can safely ship in a live enterprise system
- Bring new capabilities to the platform while respecting existing operational constraints
- Write high-quality C#/.NET code across legacy and modern runtimes (.NET Framework 4.x, .NET 6/8+)
- Work closely with platform, Dev Ops, and product teams to deliver reliable outcomes
- Use AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Copilot, Claude) as part of daily workflow
- Own problems end-to-end — from investigation through implementation and validation
- 3–5+ years of professional experience with C#/.NET (senior candidates welcome)
- Comfortable working in large, unfamiliar codebases
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and observability concepts
- Experience with SQL Server (queries, stored procedures — not DBA work)
- Cloud-literate (Azure preferred)
- Pragmatic engineer who values systems that work as much as systems that are clean
Required
- Hands-on use of AI coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, Claude, etc.) — this is not optional
- Understanding of distributed tracing and at least one APM or observability tool
Highly Valued
- Experience with System.
Diagnostics, Trace Source, Trace Listener, or ETW - Open Telemetry implementation experience
- Grafana or similar observability tooling
- Data warehousing or ETL concepts
- Kafka or event-driven architectures
- Docker, containerization, CI/CD, and Dev Ops practices
- Scripting (Power Shell, Bash)
We don’t expect every candidate to check every box. If you meet most of these and are excited to grow into the rest, we want to hear from you.
