Application Dev Analyst

Overview

This position has duties in every step of our application development process and may include:
Microsoft Azure Dev Ops, .NET, C#, Angular, JavaScript, YAML, SQL, Terraform, Agile Processes. Assists in the designing, coding, testing, implementing and support of internally developed application software. Assists customers and senior team members in gathering and documenting organizational requirements. Makes recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code or modules. May participate or assist with component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, and product evaluation.

This position is eligible for telework/remote work.

The ideal candidate would have a strong grasp of computer science fundamentals including data structures/algorithms, databases, computer networks and computer architecture. Extra points if you know C#; any modern object-oriented programming language like Java, C++ or Python will also be considered. This position requires skills in SQL development and relational databases, database design and query/performance. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server is common, but experience with any modern RDMS is acceptable.

You’ll need experience with one or more modern web backend frameworks such as ASP.NET Core, Spring Boot/MVC, Django, Ruby on Rails (experience directly with ASP.NET Core and ASP.NET 4.x is a huge plus). You’ll also need to build JSON/XML RESTful APIs and manage code with Git.

Additional useful skills include familiarity with an enterprise service bus or integration engines and cloud PaaS providers like Azure or AWS. Front-end developer skills with JavaScript/Type Script, CSS, Angular or other modern front-end frameworks (React/Vue) and experience in an agile/scrum environment are a plus. Familiarity with SSRS or other reporting engines and writing tests (unit tests, integration tests, automated UI tests) is also useful.

• Designs, codes, tests, implements and maintains complex internally developed applications.
• Conducts application coding, testing and implementation for complex applications.
• Works with customers and senior team members in the collection and documentation of requirements.
• Makes recommendations on whether to develop new code, reuse existing code, or purchase new software packages.
• Conducts application code review.
• Collects and reviews performance monitoring information.
• Conducts product evaluation.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or a directly related field AND one (1) year of relevant work experience; OR any combination of education and experience that has been achieved and is equivalent to the stated education and experience and required knowledge, skills, and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this job.

Valid Texas Driver's License.
