Senior Mobile Automation Engineer

• You will design and build scalable test automation frameworks for iOS and Android applications, improve test coverage, and collaborate with engineering teams to drive high-quality releases.
• You will work with test automation frameworks, development tooling, and team management to advance the quality automation program.
• You will help ensure mobile app quality by understanding architecture, debugging, and troubleshooting UI, performance, and device-related test failures.
• You will maintain a high standard of test reliability, regularly refactor tests, and address flakiness or instability in test suites.
• You will integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines (Buildkite, Jenkins, Git Hub Actions) and monitor automation performance and coverage.
• You will communicate clearly with engineering, product, and design teams to align on quality expectations and priorities, translating technical details into actionable feedback for stakeholders.
• You will collaborate with mobile engineers and product managers to improve testability and define coverage goals, and participate in code reviews to share best practices.
• You will gain experience with cloud-based device labs like Browser Stack, Sauce Labs, or Firebase Test Lab.
• You will contribute to quality metrics and ensure fast feedback loops for developers.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferably Computer Science or Electrical Engineering).
• 5+ years of experience building tools for developer experience, productivity, and test automation infrastructure and frameworks.
• 5+ years of experience with mobile test automation (iOS and/or Android) and proficiency with tools such as Appium, Detox, Espresso, or XCUITest; and programming in Java, Kotlin, Swift, JavaScript, or Python.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills for mobile apps.
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (Buildkite, Jenkins, Git Hub Actions).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams with diverse backgrounds.
• Experience with cloud device labs (Browser Stack, Sauce Labs, Firebase Test Lab) is a plus.

An ideal candidate also has experience shipping customer software, building developer tools and infrastructure, and translating engineering requirements into tooling and improvements; experience working with geographically distributed teams is a plus.
