Java Developer

The Java Developer will provide expert-level design and development support for cloud-native applications built with Java, Quarkus, and Spring Boot.

This role focuses on modernizing and enhancing application services and serverless components running on AWS.

The developer will serve as a technical advisor and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions following cloud and microservices best practices.

• Design, develop, and enhance cloud-native applications using Java, Quarkus, and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain serverless applications and functions using AWS Lambda.
• Modernize and refactor existing Java applications to improve performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Perform unit testing and integration testing for new and modernized applications.
• Collaborate with architecture, Dev Ops, cloud engineering, and other cross-functional teams to design scalable solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues, including performance bottlenecks, using root cause analysis.
• Ensure solutions align with cloud architecture standards and Dev Sec Ops  practices.
• Document application designs, technical specifications, deployment steps, and operational runbooks.
• Communicate development progress, challenges, and risks to leadership and stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development team members.

• 8+ years of hands‑on experience designing and developing cloud‑native applications.
• 5+ years of experience building microservices and distributed systems using Java, Quarkus, and Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in developing serverless functions using AWS Lambda.
• 3+ years of experience with AWS services such as API Gateway, S3, SQS/SNS, RDS/Aurora MySQL, and Postgre
  
  SQL.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and containerized application development.
• Strong understanding of Dev Sec Ops  principles, cloud security best practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for complex cloud systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• No travel required for this role.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.

• Experience using Git Hub Copilot to enhance development productivity.
• Experience with CI/CD toolsets such as Bitbucket, Git Lab, or AWS Code Pipeline.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog.
• Prior experience in technical leadership for cloud-native solution development.
• Understanding of event-driven architectures and API-based integrations.
