Staff Software Engineer (Hybrid/Remote) – Milwaukee, WI

Pay range: $140,000 - $175,000 annually

As a Senior Software Engineer
, you will be a hands‑on contributor responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high-quality software solutions across modern platforms. You’ll work closely with Product, Dev Leads, and fellow engineers to deliver reliable, scalable systems—while also mentoring others and helping raise the overall engineering bar.

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, contributing to system design, and delivering real business value in a collaborative environment.

• Design, build, and maintain scalable software solutions across frontend and backend systems.
• Contribute to system and feature-level architecture in partnership with Dev Leads and Architects.
• Develop and maintain APIs and services that support business‑critical workflows.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical decision‑making.
• Ensure solutions meet standards for quality, performance, security, and reliability.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to translate requirements into well‑built solutions.
• Support AI‑enabled features and integrations as part of evolving platform capabilities.
• Mentor mid‑level engineers and contribute to a strong, collaborative engineering culture.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in development and production environments.

• Write clean, maintainable, well‑tested code.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and technical trade‑off decisions.
• Improve engineering practices related to testing, observability, and deployment.
• Support continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines and development workflows.
• Ensure delivered features are reliable, usable, and aligned to business needs.

Experience with AI‑enabled features or integrations (such as LLM‑backed services) is a plus but not required.

• Delivers results with a focus on quality and maintainability.
• Curious and willing to learn new technologies as platforms evolve.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5‑8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with at least one backend language (.NET or Python).
• Experience building modern frontend applications using React.
• Experience working with relational databases (SQL Server, Postgre
  
  SQL).
• Familiarity with API design, versioning, and integration patterns.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Experience supporting AI‑enabled features or services.
• Experience in healthcare or other regulated industries.
• Exposure to cloud‑based systems and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience mentoring junior or mid‑level engineers.
