Sr Software Engineering Manager

Founded in 2008, Locumsmart provides web-based software-as-a-service solutions to the healthcare recruitment industry. The Locumsmart web-portal provides workflow automation, vendor management (VMS), and managed services provider (MSP) software for lowering costs, and increasing the efficiency of recruitment. Our clients include some of the largest hospital systems and staffing firms in the country.

Locumsmart is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join our development team. The development team is responsible for improvements and maintenance of our software as a service platform, supporting hospitals and staffing agencies to fill their contingent staffing needs. Our team is expanding into the mobile space and looking to improve the efficiency of our clients by making our functionality more accessible from different locations.

As a Software Engineering Manager on our development team, you will lead software development engineers and quality assurance engineers to efficiently and effectively design, build, test, and deploy enterprise projects. Along with other software engineering managers, you will develop strategies to improve software development processes and product quality. This role will report to the Director of Software Development.

• Strong people development including onboarding, training, mentoring, feedback, and development plans with the ability to coach and develop people for success
• Collaborate effectively with the other leaders to support and execute short and long term strategic plans for the technology division in a way that inspires excellence in performance and gains team alignment to divisional and team strategies, goals, and objectives
• Lead software development engineers and quality assurance engineers to efficiently and effectively design, build, test, and deploy enterprise projects
• Lead, coach, and mentor engineers and quality assurance engineers to be more capable engineers
• Establish a collaborative, engineering driven team environment
• Influence stakeholders at both business and technical levels

• Experience mentoring software engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective
• Experience leading out on quality processes and metrics
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Confidence to make decisions and influence all levels of management
• Ability to lead through collaboration
• Proven ability to clearly execute a vision and direction

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline required (or equivalent work experience)
• At least 6 years of experience building/testing successful web-based software systems and/or developing/testing large scale software applications
• 3-4 years of experience managing software engineers, including coaching, measuring job performance, and developing the talents of team members

• Strong working knowledge of integration technologies and tools (web services, REST services)
• Proficiency in one or more languages such as C# or Java Script
• Experience with mobile focused technologies or capabilities, such as Capacitor or React Native

We believe in fair compensation for all of our people, which is why our pay structure takes into account the cost of labor across U.S. geographic markets. For this position, we offer a pay range of $146,200 -- $282,600 annually, with pay varying depending on work location and job-related factors such as knowledge, position level and experience. CHG Healthcare offers starting salaries for sales positions in the form of total target compensation (TTC = base + commission + bonus), which includes base pay, commission, and bonuses. Sales positions receive short-term incentives through commission plans and bonuses. On the other hand, non-sales positions have starting salaries that consist of a base salary and short-term incentives through various bonus plans, which are paid out monthly, quarterly, or annually.
