Senior Platform Engineer; US​/Canada Remote

We’re a Series A, fully remote team across Europe and the US (around 25 people). Our customers use Xata to eliminate staging pain, speed up development, and make Postgres scalable for AI‑era applications.

• Work closely with the other engineering teams to build services that are highly scalable and observable.
• Set up infrastructure and configuration as code. We use Kubernetes, and Pulumi for infrastructure as code.
• Implement automation tools and frameworks for automatic code deployment (CI/CD).
• Set up and maintain observability and monitoring stack, as well as our deployment pipelines.
• Be part of the on-call rotation. The on-call load is shared between the SRE and the backend team.
• Share your experience at conferences or blog posts if interested.
• Knowledge of distributed storage systems and their operational considerations, preferably Ceph, OpenEBS, Mayastor, or similar cloud‑native storage solutions.

• Hands‑on cloud infrastructure experience on public cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Good understanding of Postgre
  
  SQL.
• Experience with Kubernetes, preferably using Kubernetes operators and running Postgres in Kubernetes.
• Experience with infrastructure as code.
• Hands‑on experience coding, ideally in Python, Go or Typescript with a focus on clean, maintainable code.
• Experience with observability tools and incident management.

• Deep experience with operating database products at scale.
