At Edward Jones, the Client Discovery and Wealth Management team is responsible for integrating with and extending a vendor-based financial planning tool. The system is used by 19,000+ Financial Advisors to help clients in their financial planning needs. The system is also integrated with various cloud and in-house applications to achieve the best users experience for the end users.

• Duties include providing high-quality services and applications by coding, testing, debugging, documenting and maintaining programs. Developing and modifying moderately complex information systems involving most phases of systems analysis and programming.
• Focus will be on creation of new services and APIs to integrate and facilitate data flows between vendor financial planning applications with Edward Jones systems.
• Analyze, code, test and document programs and enhancements.
• Conduct code walkthroughs to assure quality of programs developed by other associates.
• Optimize application performance for maximum speed and scalability
• Mentor entry and mid-level developers
• Work closely with support team, delivery manager and product owners to address incidents and problem queues, ensuring proper prioritization.
• Good analysis and trouble-shooting skills are required.

• Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications or Engineering preferred or related work experience.
• 7+ years of experience with Java, JEE, Spring, Spring Boot (Microservices), Rest Services, Spring JPA, REST, JSON, Junit, Java script, and XML.
• Experience creating REST based API contracts.
• Experience and familiarity with Docker, containers, Kubernetes, Microservices, github.
• Experience with PAAS solutions like Azure is a plus.
• Experience using CI/CD pipelines and code quality tools.
• Test driven mindset using frameworks like JUnit and contract testing tools such as Pact.io.
• Ability to develop system designs within area of expertise.
• Ability to perform analysis of system requirements to determine feasibility, costs, benefits.
• Demonstrates the ability to provide strategic direction and technical leadership to align objectives with the overall Firm strategy
• Able to create a strong team environment and build technical skills through training and mentoring of others.
• Ability to influence Team Leaders, Project Leaders, and/or associates in a matrix organization.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships across departments, business areas, and vendors.
