About Crazy Games

Crazy Games launched our mobile apps last summer, and the growth has been explosive—surpassing 2.5 million sessions in the last month alone. We are a self-funded, profitable company that operates with the agility of a startup but the stability of a market leader. As a Product Engineer, you aren’t just a cog in a machine; you are the architect of a “blank canvas” mobile experience backed by an existing audience of tens of millions.

The Role:

Why This is Unusual

Most engineering roles force you to choose between two paths:

  • The Scale Path: Working on a massive legacy system where your impact is a 0.1% improvement.
  • The Startup Path: Building something from scratch (the “blank canvas”) but struggling to find even 100 active users.

At Crazy Games, you get both. You will be building a mobile experience from its foundational stages (the blank canvas) while immediately deploying your code to a massive, global user base (the scale). This role is perfect for a product-minded engineer who loves to see their work impact millions of people in real-time.

Your Journey:
The First 12 Months

Crazy Games believe in ownership and clear progression. Here is what your first year at Crazy Games will look like:

Phase 1:
Integration (Month
1)
  • Deep Dive: You’ll get your hands dirty with our modern codebase (Type Script, React, Capacitor).
  • Quick Wins: Within your first few weeks, you will be identifying and fixing bugs, pushing code that directly improves the experience for our 50M users.
  • Infrastructure: You’ll begin to understand our AWS and Terraform setup, ensuring you know how the engine runs under the hood.
  • End-to-End Ownership: You will start implementing user-facing features from the backend (Node.js/Graph

QL) all the way to the frontend (React/Capacitor).
  • Data-Driven: You will conduct A/B tests and experiments to see how new features affect our core metrics. You don’t just build; you measure and iterate.
Phase 3:
The Innovation Milestone (Month
6)
  • The “Offline” Challenge: You will take full ownership of one of our most requested features:
    Offline Play.
  • Technical Complexity: You’ll solve the complex problem of allowing users to play games without internet access while ensuring their progress, high scores, and achievements sync seamlessly the moment they reconnect.
  • High-Level Vision: You will have a comprehensive understanding of how our various code projects interact.
  • Strategic Coordination: Working alongside the Team Lead, you will specify, architect, and lead large-scale features that span across multiple platforms and repositories.
What We Are Looking For

Crazy Games don’t expect you to be a master of every single tool in our stack on day one, but we do expect you to be a “Swiss Army Knife” developer—curious, adaptable, and eager to learn.

Technical Qualifications
  • Education/

    Experience:

A degree in Computer Science/Engineering OR at least 3 years of professional experience in software development.
  • Versatility: You are happy to switch between writing a custom Capacitor plugin in native code (Swift/Kotlin) one day and managing cloud infrastructure via Terraform the next.
The “Product” Mindset
  • User-Centric: You don’t just build what’s on a ticket; you think about the user. If a feature doesn’t make sense for the gamer, you speak up.
  • Business Sense: You understand how technical decisions impact business goals and user retention.
  • Analytical

    Skills:

You can look at data and user feedback to prioritize what to build next.
The Tech Stack

Crazy Games pride ourselves on using a modern, efficient, and developer-friendly stack:

  • Languages: Type Script is our bread and butter.
  • Frontend: React for the UI.
  • Mobile Framework: Capacitor (allowing us to leverage web tech while accessing native APIs).
  • Backend: Node.js with Graph

    QL for efficient data fetching.
  • Infrastructure: AWS, managed via Terraform (Infrastructure as…
