Front-End Software Developer (L9)

Location: Dallas, TX (On-site, Remote options available)

Role Summary/Purpose

Join our IT team as a Front-End Software Developer (L9) and play a crucial role in shaping the future of payments by building intuitive online applications. You will work closely with the User Experience team, participate in innovation events, and define the future of software engineering in the Fin Tech industry.

Essential Responsibilities

Build web applications using React

JS, HTML, CSS, JS.
Collaborate with a cross-shore development team.
Influence and create amazing online experiences.
Participate in agile sprints, including planning, daily standups, backlog grooming, and reviews.
Troubleshoot and fix production defects.
Work with third-party vendors for software development and integration.
Perform other assigned duties and special projects.

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and a minimum of 2 years of web application development experience.
OR High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of professional web application development experience.
React single-page web app development experience is a must.
Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required.

Desired Characteristics

Experience building responsive web applications using React

JS, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Experience working on an agile development team.
Experience with building React component libraries and dependency management tools (e.g., NPM).
Experience with continuous integration environments (e.g., Jenkins).
Experience with building and deploying applications.
Experience with unit testing frameworks and TDD environments.
Working knowledge of Accessibility (ADA) and Analytics requirements.
Working knowledge of Generative AI concepts, tools, and best practices (e.g., prompt engineering, LLM development, AI agents).

Grade/Level

Salary Range

$85,000.00 - $ USD Annual (eligible for annual bonus)

Synchrony offers flexibility with options to work from home, near a Hub, or in an office. Occasional travel or commuting may be required for in-person engagement activities.

Eligibility Requirements

Must be 18 years or older.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Willingness to undergo drug testing, background investigation, and fingerprint submission.
Must satisfy requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; no sponsorship will be provided.
