Software Engineer, Infrastructure- Marimo

Role Overview

Core Weave has recently acquired Weights & Biases. As part of the marimo molab team, you will co‑design and implement the backend architecture for a cloud‑hosted notebook service that delivers high availability, low latency, and efficient GPU utilization while preventing fraud and abuse.

• Co‑design and build the backend architecture of molab.
• Ensure high availability, low latency (both kernel spin‑up/spin‑down and front‑end/backend communication), stability, and fraud & abuse mitigation.
• Deploy on Core Weave’s specialized Kubernetes‑based clusters and integrate with Core Weave object storage.
• Keep GPU utilization high through effective resource allocation.

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Strong fundamentals that are language agnostic.
• Expertise in computer systems, including parallel computing (threading, multiprocessing), concurrency (asynchronous programming), networking/inter‑process communication.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes), scheduling, networked file systems, resource allocation, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience building highly available, fault‑tolerant systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency with Python and Python packaging.
• Basic experience or awareness of the Python stack for AI/ML.
• Empathy for practitioners and researchers in AI, ML, data engineering, NLP, or other quantitative work.
• Experience with GPU resource allocation and sharing.

We prioritize a hybrid work environment; remote work may be considered for candidates more than 30 miles from an office based on role requirements. New hires will attend onboarding at one of our hubs within the first month, and teams gather quarterly to support collaboration.

The base salary range for this role is $188,000 to $275,000. Compensation is based on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer discretionary bonuses, equity awards, and a comprehensive benefits program.
