Java Developer - Senior

Overview

We are looking for high-capacity individuals that will work within our agile team to assist us in creating best in class Enterprise APIs and the necessary Production Infrastructure to successfully provide performance, scale, and reliability. These individuals might find themselves assisting in the following activities daily:

• Develop modern RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot, acting as a full stack developer with Dev Ops, CI/CD, and cloud-enabled services (containers, on-prem and in the cloud).
• Assist with system design and business analysis (server layout, availability, disaster recovery planning, production deployments, etc.).
• Assist with software and data design (database schema, storage considerations, data mapping, storage efficiency, and design-related matters, API design including call signature, schema, business logic, data access, resilience, logging, supportability, etc.).
• Assist with software delivery (hands‑on or advisory/architectural role to create server architecture, table layouts, highly available data resources, highly recoverable data resources, and configure highly performant data sources).
• Assist with a transition to Kafka – analyzing proper use cases, detailed Kafka environment setup considerations, enrichment, and transformations.
• Assist with transitioning from a physical/virtual machine environment to one based on cloud run environments and containers.
• Implement API layers and integrate the work into our continuous delivery, continuous integration pipeline.
• Collaborate with other engineers and architects to create a common API layer between a variety of data sources and applications via an agile product model working in 2‑week sprints.
• Develop software in an agile environment leveraging Dev Ops for environment setup, automated builds, continuous deployment, continuous integration, and automated testing.
• Play a key role implementing enterprise services and APIs under architectural guidance.
• Deliver rapid, scalable, and quality solutions that meet business needs; develop and implement unit tests and automated test scripts as routine activities.
• Work closely with engineers, vendor partners, and business owners to ensure the finished solution meets business and customer needs.
• Follow industry‑standard agile software design methodologies and embrace new technologies and methods.
• Maintain and evolve existing integration assets and systems.
• Introduce and evolve processes and methods required for maturing integration development, implementation, and operation of key platforms.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in software development, including creating and maintaining application interfaces between various data sources and applications with an emphasis on API development.
• 1+ year of experience with Dev Ops.

• Self‑starter who can prioritize and plan complex tasks in a rapidly changing environment.
• Experience with automation testing (APIs, etc.).
• Ability to see and articulate patterns and relationships between technologies, processes, business models, and people.
• Expert in conceptual and analytical skills, demonstrating out‑of‑the‑box problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent collaboration skills, positive attitude, high energy, strong interpersonal skills, and high motivation.
• Adept at building team relationships and partnering across organizational lines.
• Strong experience with the SDLC process.
• Strong experience developing application interfaces (API) with Java or similar object‑oriented languages.
• Strong Java development experience, including Spring Framework, Eclipse, Maven, and Gradle.
• Experience with REST, JSON, or SOAP web interfaces.
• Experience with Jenkins build management systems and automated testing frameworks such as JUnit.
• Experience with Git source control management and web interfaces such as Git Hub.

Certain positions outside our branch network may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement. We’re combining the best of both worlds: in‑office and work from home.
