UPP Software Developer

Position Overview

This part‑time flexible Hybrid/Remote position is designed to accommodate students in good standing with their university. The ideal candidate will be a rising senior or a master’s degree student pursuing a degree in Software Development, computer science, or any related field. Seniors pursuing a bachelor’s degree will also be considered. A professor recommendation is required. This position requires a U.S. Security Clearance.

• Collaborate on software development projects supporting operational systems and analytics platforms.
• Write, test, and maintain code using modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Participate in the design and implementation of databases and APIs.
• Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing software applications.
• Contribute to documentation, reporting, and presentations for stakeholders.
• Work independently and as part of a team to solve technical challenges.
• Learn and apply new technologies and development practices.
• Occasionally provide administrative support related to project documentation and coordination.

• Hybrid/Remote with occasional on‑site duties at Barksdale AFB LA or Tech Pointe location in Ruston LA.
• Home office environment during scheduled remote work hours.
• Collaborative space environment during on‑site work hours.
• Occasional travel to meet with clients or attend conferences.

• Occasional travel to meet with USG clients or attend conferences.
• Day travel to Tech Pointe or Barksdale AFB.

• Pursuing a master’s degree in computer science, software development, or a field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.
• Rising senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software development, or a field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.

• Proficiency in Python, SQL, JavaScript, and Type Script.
• Pursuing a master’s degree in computer science, software development, or a field directly related to the position.
• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree (entering senior year) in computer science, software development, or a field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.

• United States Citizen.
• Ability to obtain secret clearance.
• Thorough credit and criminal history checks will be conducted on all applicants.
