Senior Software Development Engineer - US Federal

About The Role

This role will support one or more direct or indirect contracts with the U.S. Federal Government which, due to federal government security requirements, mandates that all Workday personnel working on the contracts be United States citizens (naturalized or native). This role will require a security clearance at the TS/SCI w/CI Poly level. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.

An active TS/SCI w/CI Poly is preferred. May be required to be on site at client locations in the DC, MD, and VA (DMV) area.

• Collaborate with Product Managers and QA Engineers on functional design and analysis of requirements
• Lead the design and development of products in a metadata-driven environment
• Build and maintain robust, efficient and maintainable code using an object-oriented framework and class modeling
• Troubleshoot customer reported issues
• Mentor and learn from other team members through pair programming, code reviews, hackathons, etc.

• TS/SCI w/CI Poly security clearance or ability to obtain
• 8+ years experience with UML, web application development or SaaS technologies
• 8+ years of experience using an object-oriented language such as Java, Python, C#, C++, etc.
• 8+ years of experience designing/developing business applications
• 8+ years of experience with design and analysis of software for performance
• Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field or equivalent work experience

• Experience leading agile/scrum teams, providing technical guidance, and mentoring junior engineers
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Experience with JSON, REST, and Graph
  
  QL is a plus
• Strong knowledge of key design patterns in object-oriented development
• Experience developing applications that prioritize usability and configurability

USA.VA.Reston. Base Pay Range: $163,800 USD - $245,800 USD. Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $148,200 USD - $264,000 USD. The role may be eligible for Workday Bonus Plan or role-specific commission/bonus and annual refresh stock grants.

We spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with customers, prospects, and partners. Remote "home office" roles can come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
