ABOUT THIS ROLE

Apex Fintech Solutions is seeking a Manager, Software Engineering to lead our Trade Processing team. This team owns our core trading services that are responsible for clearing all of the trading volume for Apex Fintech Solutions. You will play a pivotal role in leading this team while collaborating with cross‑functional engineering teams and managers to deliver cutting‑edge projects that shape the future of our industry.

This is not just a people management role; it's an opportunity to lead with vision, influence, and strategic thinking in a fast‑paced environment. You will be at the forefront of our Agile development initiatives, ensuring that our solutions not only meet but exceed our stakeholders’ expectations. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to wear multiple hats from strategic planning and risk management to hands‑on design, architecture and execution of software development initiatives, working with highly talented software engineers, empowering you to make a significant impact on our delivery outcomes and company growth.

DUTIES

AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and manage engineering initiatives from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders such as product managers and business users to define scope, objectives and deliverables while managing your engineering team throughout the product life cycle.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, retrospectives, PI Planning and promote continuous improvement.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, proactively addressing issues to avoid delays.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project and engineering updates and reporting, ensuring transparency and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with various funnels to ensure resource availability and prioritization of work.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Computer Science, or a related field;
    Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 6+ years of experience managing technology projects in SaaS, infrastructure and/or software development, ideally in a financial services (Fin Tech) and/or technology firm.
  • 2+ years of experience as a people manager.
REQUIRED

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience managing cross‑functional teams.
  • Expertise in fault‑tolerant system design, high‑availability services, and handling high‑throughput, real‑time data processing.
  • Proficiency in cloud‑based (GCP) backend systems and micro‑service architecture to ensure scalability and reliability.
  • Solid understanding of Dev Ops principles with hands‑on experience in CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Understanding of security best practices for APIs, backend systems and infrastructure.
  • Exceptional problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with financial systems, trading and accounting concepts, and compliance within regulated environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to convey concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a hybrid, office environment: 3 days per week in the office with flexibility to work from home.
