We are a fully remote workforce and a hyper‑growth company that often operates in multiple time zones. While many roles may function from anywhere in the world, U.S. based team members outside the Pacific time zone are expected to work at least six hours between 8 am and 5 pm Pacific time each workday.

We’re looking for an AI Product Engineer on our small but nimble AI team. Your mission is to deploy responsible AI within the Modern Health ecosystem, incorporating LLMs, embeddings, and other ML/AI technologies into our experiences. This position is not eligible to be performed in Hawaii.

• Provide technical leadership on a new team prototyping and experimenting with new AI features
• Productionize and ship AI integrations into Modern Health’s core product
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver product features on time
• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest AI technologies and trends

• 8+ years experience building and prototyping: You have experience building products from the ground up with a solid grasp of the full stack from user experience to data models. You are familiar with RDS (ideally Postgres).
• Problem‑solving: You understand first principles thinking and approach problems starting with a clear understanding of context. You think critically about the implications of what you’re building and how it will impact real people’s lives.
• Empathetic communication and collaboration: You communicate nuanced ideas clearly, whether you’re explaining technical decisions in writing or brainstorming in real time. You collaborate well with engineers and cross‑functional partners, and you are a lifelong learner investing in your teammates’ growth.
• Impact‑focused: You care about business impact and prioritize your work accordingly, balancing craft, speed, and the bottom line. Your impact extends beyond code; you mentor other engineers, lead large projects, and think beyond immediate deliverables.
• Shipping quality user interfaces: You have partnered closely with product and design to craft beautiful user experiences for large audiences, ideally with React/React Native.
