Dev Ops Software Engineer (Mid or Senior)

Salary Range: $150,000 to $210,000 per year
Dev Ops is an agile development practice and mindset that applies agile principles such as collaboration, communication, and effective tooling to streamline software build, test, and release activities. Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) is a core Dev Ops approach that automates software development and deployment processes to enable faster, more reliable releases. The selected individual will support Dev Ops activities as part of an agile development team for a large, complex enterprise system.
This role requires a dedicated software engineer who will work on a variety of Dev Ops tasks, with a strong focus on automation and efficient software delivery. The individual must be willing to learn and adopt new technologies and methodologies, and must consider the system's end-to-end IT infrastructure when implementing changes and improvements.
- Managing tools that support software development, deployment, and integrated testing.
- Integrating project functions and resources across the full product lifecycle.
- Identifying manual processes and implementing automation to improve efficiency.
- Selecting, configuring, and maintaining appropriate CI/CD tools.
- Implementing and supporting development, testing, and automation tools while optimizing the underlying IT infrastructure.
- Ensuring that all system changes and improvements maintain required security standards.
- Designing, building, and continuously improving CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration, delivery, and deployment.
- Demonstrating persistence and ownership when facing challenges, with a strong commitment to program goals.
- Collaborating with and assisting team members across the program, as needed, to achieve shared objectives.
- U.S. Citizens with an active TS/SCI Security Clearance and Polygraph are required.
- At least 8 years of relevant Dev Ops experience.
- At least 5 years of experience managing tools that support software development, deployment, and integrated testing.
- At least 5 years of experience working with CI/CD frameworks.
- Meaningful system administration experience (primarily Windows, with some Linux).
- Experience with Java, Groovy, Python, Power Shell, Batch, Bash scripting, JavaScript, and Angular
JS. Experience with IDEs such as Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, Rhapsody, and Web Storm. - Experience with software source control and configuration management tools.
- Experience working in a virtualized environment, including managing virtual machines (VMs).
- Experience with container-based platforms used for automated application deployment.
- Motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn new techniques and technologies, while adhering to best practices in test automation.
- Strong understanding of sound software development principles and practices.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Independent thinker capable of producing high-quality work, both individually and as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience with databases such as Oracle, Postgre
SQL, Mongo
DB, and SQL Server. - Experience with web application user interface development, database design and structures, Spring Framework, and technologies such as Angular
JS, JSON, HTML, XML, and XSLT. - Experience with Scrum and/or the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), SAFe Agilist certification, or prior experience as a member of an Agile team.
