Front-End Application Developer

Position Description

Valiant Solutions is seeking a Front-End Focused Application Developer to support our agile software development practice, supporting an environmentally focused Federal Government client. The agency's programs aim to promote environmental sustainability and protect the natural resources of our planet. As part of this contract, we will be supporting the agency's efforts to develop and maintain information systems that facilitate the tracking and reporting of environmental data.

Our team will work closely with the agency to ensure that the information systems are secure, compliant with accessibility standards, and support the agency's business processes.

This person will be a member of a software development team and ensure the successful delivery of software applications. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to work closely with business analysts, scrum masters, and other stakeholders, and have a passion for delivering high-quality software products.

• At least 5 years of experience as a full stack developer, with a strong emphasis on front‑end work
• Deep proficiency in Type Script and modern front‑end frameworks like React or Angular
• Familiarity with server‑side development in Node.js, and a willingness to contribute to back‑end work as needed
• Experience with AWS cloud services
• Postgre
  
  SQL experience is preferred
• Exposure to event‑driven architecture patterns is a plus
• Solid practical experience with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Comfortable in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment

• Participate with the software development team in all phases of the Agile software development life cycle (SDLC), including planning, design, development, testing, and deployment
• Work closely with business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure the successful delivery of software applications
• Ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
• Ensure that software development methodologies and best practices are followed and that code is maintainable, scalable, and testable
• Participate in the development and maintenance of technical documentation, including design documents, user manuals, and release notes
• Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging technologies and trends in software development and provide recommendations for new tools and techniques that can improve the development process
• Have an understanding of UX and UI design principles
