Lead Platform Engineer
As a Lead Platform Engineer at Voya Financial, you will design, implement, and support Open Shift, Azure Red Hat Open Shift, and Dev Ops CI/CD pipelines across multiple application technical stacks for public and hybrid‑cloud digital transformations.
This position allows remote work from home, subject to required travel to the assigned Voya office within a 50‑mile radius (Windsor, CT; New York, NY; Atlanta, GA; Minneapolis, MN). The remote portion is contingent on business needs.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain Open Shift, Azure Red Hat Open Shift, and Dev Ops CI/CD solutions for public and hybrid‑cloud environments.
- Build new and support existing Red Hat Open Shift and Azure Red Hat clusters and platforms.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Git Hub, ArgoCD, Azure Dev Ops, and Artifactory.
- Provide hands‑on support for platform administration, configuration, and operations.
- Research and evaluate potential system solutions, including product/vendor evaluation.
- Work independently on medium‑scale projects and problem‑solving exercises.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with developers, engineers, and architects to develop integrated solutions.
- Offer rotating on‑call support for production infrastructure and applications; provide business‑hours support for development systems.
- Collaborate with all IT functions.
- Extensive hands‑on experience administering Kubernetes platforms, preferably Red Hat Open Shift and Azure Red Hat Open Shift.
- Hands‑on experience with Red Hat/Istio Service Mesh.
- Proficient with containerization of multiple application stacks using Docker and Podman.
- Experience writing automation scripts in Terraform, Ansible, Python, and Helm.
- Proficiency with Dev Ops tools such as Jenkins, Git Hub, ArgoCD, Azure Dev Ops, and Artifactory.
- Strong knowledge of application servers (JBoss, JWS) and web servers (Apache, Nginx) with experience in configuration and performance tuning of Java and .NET applications.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, collaborating with multiple teams for solutions support, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, and Kiali.
- Experience with the Ansible Automation platform.
- Certifications in Azure Dev Ops, Kubernetes, and Azure Administration.
Base salary range:$100,070–$157,470
USD, commensurate with experience and location.
