Software Engineer, DevOps
Location: California
Principal Software Developer Engineer in Test – Palo Alto, CA, USA.
This office-based position requires no hybrid or remote work.
Job Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, robust test automation frameworks in Python.
- Develop high‑quality, complex Python tests on distributed systems at scale and in private clouds.
- Lead end-to-end automation for testing vDefend Distributed Firewall and ATP, leveraging multithreading.
- Develop test plans, scripts, and scenarios to validate system functionality, performance, and scalability.
- Collaborate with development, manual test engineers, and product teams to define and implement testing strategies.
- Advocate for software quality and follow up with developers to resolve defects.
- Mentor junior engineers, promoting best practices in coding, review, and automation.
- Perform manual testing as needed and track deliverables to product release schedules.
- 6+ years of strong programming experience in Python, YAML, Bash, and object‑oriented programming.
- Expertise in Python and testing frameworks such as PyTest and Robot Framework.
- Experience building and optimizing test automation pipelines.
- Hands‑on knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab CI).
- Working knowledge of REST APIs and networking/security/cloud technologies.
- Experience in system‑level testing and performance testing.
- Bonus: familiarity with virtualization, containerization, or cloud platforms (VMware, AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Excellent problem‑solving, debugging, and networking troubleshooting skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent with 8+ years of related experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience.

Compensation and BenefitsAnnual base salary range: $120,000 – $192,000. Eligible for discretionary annual bonus and equity. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(K) with company match, ESPP, EAP, paid holidays, sick leave, vacation, and paid family leave.
