Software Engineer – Back End (Remote, Portugal)

Remote, but must be based in Portugal (Lisbon, Coimbra, Porto preferred)

Tillster, headquartered in the USA, is the global leader in digital ordering and customer engagement solutions. We develop self‑service, ordering and payments platforms for mobile, tablet, online, kiosk, call center and other channels, supporting over 90% of POS systems in multi‑unit restaurants.

We are looking for experienced mid‑to‑senior Back‑End Developers to build modern event‑driven microservices and platforms.

• Build highly scalable microservices in a serverless backend architecture with continuous delivery.
• Participate in design sessions to improve overall platform architecture.
• Become proficient in AWS technologies and modern serverless event‑driven architecture.
• Work with stakeholders and product owners to understand requirements and propose solutions.
• Continuously learn through access to Linked In Learning courses.
• Use application integration techniques to communicate with third‑party and legacy/back‑end systems.
• Help develop high‑volume, high‑performance, high‑availability service‑oriented Java or Type Script applications.

• 3‑5+ years of service‑oriented development experience in Java, Python, C#, Type Script or similar.
• Experience designing and developing reusable libraries, APIs and microservices.
• Experience with relational or No
  
  SQL data stores.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix, Windows, networking.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Bonus: point‑of‑sale or payment systems experience.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience with AWS serverless, Dynamo
  
  DB, SQS, etc is a plus.
