Senior Full Stack Engineer
As a Senior Full Stack Engineer at Humana, you will architect, develop, and maintain robust software solutions across all layers of the technology stack—database design, backend logic, and intuitive front‑end experiences. You’ll tackle complex technical challenges, analyze and resolve multifaceted issues, and ensure high standards in code quality, security, and performance. Responsibilities- Lead development and maintenance of the CWP application, implementing backend ARM components and Next.js frontend modules, while building and optimizing reusable component pages for improved user experience.
- Manage reliable deployments to Non Production (NPE) and PROD environments and oversee migration of application infrastructure from Cloud1 to Cloud3, ensuring adherence to Humana’s approved cloud modernization standards.
- Administer application infrastructure, including configuration, monitoring, and security controls, and coordinate exception processes for security policies through Humana Service Now as required.
- Provide technical guidance and code reviews to teammates, maintain comprehensive documentation, and support seamless ongoing operations through cross‑functional collaboration.
- Make informed decisions on moderately complex to complex technical issues related to project components, ensuring optimal technical approaches.
- Perform tasks independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and accountability.
- Begin to influence department strategy by introducing innovative solutions and best practices.
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams and mentor junior engineers to foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Authorized to work in the US without Humana sponsorship; may not be offered visa sponsorship.
- 5+ years of experience with a focus on React.js & Next.js technologies.
- 3+ years of experience in web application development.
- 3+ years of experience designing, developing, and testing software applications and/or infrastructure.
- 3+ years of experience using Type Script.
- 2+ years of experience working with version control systems.
- Solid understanding of tools (Jest, React Testing Library) for quality assurance.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment.
- Passion for contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
- Familiarity with Git Hub version control systems.
- Experience with cloud services such as Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Understanding of application security principles and best practices.
- Experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring junior team members.

The role is remote and requires the ability to work EST hours. Occasional travel to Humana offices for training or meetings may be required.
Home‑office employees must provide self‑supplied internet service that meets a minimum download speed of 25
Mbps and upload speed of 10
Mbps. Satellite, cellular, and microwave connections are allowed only with leadership approval. Employees in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota using the approved internet may receive a bi‑weekly payment for the expense.

CompensationThe starting base pay range for full‑time (40 hours per week) employment is $106,900–$147,000 per year, with potential for additional bonus incentives based on company and/or individual performance.
