Software Engineer II; Trade Processing

About This Role

Apex Fintech Solutions is looking for an experienced Software Engineer II with a passion for writing great code and dedicating to drive their skills to the next level for a development team on the front lines of Apex's high-volume, high-availability trade clearing suite. You will partner with next-generation stock trading products and build cloud-native, event-driven microservices on GCP.

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software.
• Learn from and apply design techniques and coding standards coached by Senior Engineers.
• Build resilient, self-scaling, self-healing services that allow you to sleep through the night.
• Support production systems built, including CI/CD deployment and monitoring (Grafana, Prometheus, Pager Duty).
• Write high-quality, well-tested code and maintain high code quality standards via code reviews.

• BA, BS, MS, PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technology field (or equivalent work experience) required.
• 3+ years of experience as a software engineer, developer or similar.
• Proven experience with at least one relevant general-purpose programming language (Java, C#, C++, Go, etc.).
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services preferred.
• Experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker preferred.
  
  Experience with Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis or Google Pub/Sub preferred.
• Financial services background is a plus.

• Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, or similar.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven expertise in relational databases with SQL query expertise.
• Familiarity with software development best practices including testing, version control and agile processes.
• A problem‑solving mindset with the ability to think critically through challenging engineering scenarios.
• An innate passion for learning new technologies, frameworks and tools to contribute to dynamic software solutions.
