Software Engineer, Embedded Software Engineer
The Firmware Tools team at Dexcom is responsible for developing tools that help users connect with both Transmitter and Receiver devices and evaluate device health. As a Sr SW Test Development Engineer, you will support test FW feature interfaces and validate CGM Transmitter performance.
Responsibilities- Validate BLE interface of Nordic/Silicon Labs based CGM transmitters and Dexcom G7 Application.
- Execute BLE interoperability tests to evaluate system performance and compatibility of BLE vendors/versions.
- Perform system‑level use cases such as intended use, cross‑body, direct‑to‑watch, range and interoperability.
- Analyze results and share feedback for next‑gen CGM transmitters.
- Debug customer‑reported issues and support resolution in collaboration with development team/vendor.
- Develop functional and stability tests using Python, Android Debug Bridge (ADB), Ellisys, Selenium, and Appium frameworks.
- Work in an Agile environment and use Git Hub, Jira, and Confluence to create user stories, defect cards, and maintain code.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering/science, electrical/electronics engineering or related field (master’s or PhD preferred).
- 7‑12 years of industry experience, 2‑4 years in firmware/embedded testing (minimum 2 years in Embedded C, 2 years in Python scripting).
- Experience developing test plans/cases and test scripts.
- Proficient in languages: C, C++, Embedded C, Python.
- Familiar with tools: SSH Client, Arduino, JIRA, JTAG, PyCharm, Ellisys Sniffer, Wireshark, MATLAB.
- Knowledge of peripherals: GPIO, UART, SPI, I2C, CAN Protocol, TCP/IP, UDP.

Travel required:
0‑5%.
Primary location is a home office; work with manager to determine office visit needs. Must live within commuting distance of assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120 km).
