Job Overview

The Junior Software Developer is responsible for supporting the design and development of innovative software solutions that meet our clients' and business needs and expectations. This position is responsible for analyzing user requirements, designing and coding software programs or systems, testing and debugging software solutions, and documenting this work. The Junior Software Developer assists with code reviews and participates in providing input for technology standards, best practices, and software development lifecycle processes.

This role reports directly to the Senior Director, Development and Architecture.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Support software development of new projects
Participate in proof-of-concepts with the Senior Director, Development and Architecture of emerging technologies that should be integrated and/or introduced to ensure IT has the capabilities needed to respond to future business requirements
Adhere to best practices regarding technology standards, change management, release management, application life cycles, and enterprise architecture
Support analyzing software specifications and system requirements to design scalable and functional applications
With guidance from the Senior Director, develop software programs or systems using various programming languages and technologies
Test and debug software solutions using various tools and methods
Document software programs with flowcharts, diagrams, and other documentation
Collaborate with other software engineers, project managers, QA engineers, and stakeholders to ensure quality
Participate in the entire software development life cycle, from planning to deployment

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience and
Knowledge or experience with the following databases:
Azure SQL, SQL Server, Cosmos

DB, MySQL, PostgreSQL
Knowledge or experience with the following programming languages: .NET, python and
Experience with web services and APIs (RESTful, SOAP, Flask, etc.) and
Knowledge of Azure cloud platform technologies like App Services, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Key Vaults, Azure AI Services, Azure Storage, Azure Container Services and
Knowledge or experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and
Experience with CI/CD pipeline with Git Hub Actions
Familiar with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Angular, React, etc.)
Familiar with data ETL and reporting tools (Microsoft SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Power BI)
Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
Strong organization, prioritization, and analytical skills
Initiative, good judgment, and ability to work independently under pressure in a changing environment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with AI technologies such as OpenAI services (Chat GPT integration)
