About the RoleChannel File Systems is a critical component of Crowd Strike’s zero‑prem‑burden, scan‑less threat detection, alerting and response suite. The role focuses on building frameworks, libraries and tooling for testing distributed services and APIs, and contributing to core production.
What You’ll Do- Verify component, system integration and application level features to ensure reliability, accuracy and performance meet quality standards.
- Review engineering technical design documents and requirements, and provide plans and strategy for building testability.
- Increase and improve automated test coverage.
- Contribute to existing tools, frameworks and related solutions.
- Leverage new open source solutions to build new tools that test in new ways.
- Improve product quality across the entire platform and applications.
- Collaborate on determining root cause of production outages and add quality improvements to prevent future outages.
- Create and maintain test infrastructure, building frameworks and packages required for automation.
- Delve into back‑end development as needed to fully understand and drive test efforts.
- United States citizenship or permanent residency (no clearance required).
- 7+ years of combined experience as an SDET and/or Backend Developer focused on distributed services and APIs.
- 2‑3+ years building testing frameworks and tooling for a cloud SaaS product.
- Computer science background or equivalent experience (programming styles, data structures, algorithms, etc.).
- Experience with Go, Python, Scala, Java, C++, or JavaScript.
- Networking: protocols, distributed systems, layered architectures.
- Web services: JSON, REST, RPC, XML, AWS EC2 & S3.
- Data storage:
Postgre
SQL, MySQL, Cassandra, SQLServer, Redis, or Mem Cache. - Strong debugging skills: spot design flaws, race conditions and performance bottlenecks in complex architectures.
- Application, OS, web browser or hardware compatibility testing.
- Computer and/or network security experience/understanding.
- A love for breaking software systems in creative and useful ways.
- Producing rock solid solutions for all manner of product quality concerns.

- Ability to communicate, collaborate and deliver.
- Authored and led successful open source libraries and projects.
- Contributions to the open source community (Git Hub, Stack Overflow, blogging).
- Existing exposure to Go, AWS, Cassandra, Kafka, Elasticsearch, GRPC, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins.
