Position: Systems Software Engineer (C++/Rust)

Type: Hourly Contract

Compensation: $65–$110/hour (base rate), with median average pay of $200/hour inclusive of bonuses

Location: Remote

Duration: 1 month

Commitment: Part‑time, 15–20 hours per week, fully remote and asynchronous

Role Responsibilities (Training support will be provided)

• Develop and validate coding benchmarks in C++ or Rust with emphasis on object‑oriented design principles
• Curate tasks, solutions, and test suites from real‑world systems code repositories
• Ensure benchmarks include robust unit and integration tests for accurate solution verification
• Debug, optimize, and document benchmark code to ensure reliability and reproducibility
• Provide structured feedback on solution clarity and adherence to systems engineering best practices

Ideal Qualifications

• Strong experience as a systems engineer at a top‑tier tech company or U.S. national lab
• Strong proficiency in C++ and/or Rust programming languages
• Experience with debugging, testing, and validating low‑level or performance‑critical applications
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to clearly communicate technical reasoning
