Job Overview
Geotab is seeking a Software Developer to integrate Keycloak as our central authentication platform. The role involves designing and implementing the security architecture, optimizing server performance, and developing custom integration code and extensions for Keycloak in Java and C#.
ResponsibilitiesThe developer will implement project tasks, manage day‑to‑day activities, provide status reports to key partners, and collaborate closely with developers and stakeholders to ensure a reliable user experience.
- Integrate Keycloak with existing applications and systems.
- Design and implement security and architecture of the authentication infrastructure.
- Ensure scalability and security of the authentication system through comprehensive testing, including Test‑Driven and Security‑Driven Development.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Keycloak‑related issues and plan/execute upgrades with minimal disruption.
- Write and maintain secure, high‑quality code in both Java and C# while conducting code reviews.
- Participate in a 24x7 on‑call rotating schedule.
- Bachelor of Computer Science, Electrical/Software Engineering, or a related degree.
- 2+ years of experience as a Software Developer, with a strong background in Java, C#, and relational databases.
- Deep expertise in authentication/authorization concepts and protocols (OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect).
- Proven experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, Dev Ops practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands‑on experience with Keycloak installation, configuration, and scripting (preferred).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to respond to fast‑changing priorities.
- Must have continuously resided in the continental United States for at least three years immediately preceding the application. Some exceptions apply to U.S. citizens.

The hiring range for this position is $83,200 — $102,800 USD. The actual base salary depends on skills, qualifications, education, and experience, including the location where the applicant performs the job.
