Software Engineer, Online Maps

The role involves leading the development and implementation of perception algorithms and machine learning models for online maps to support Aurora's self-driving vehicle technology, ensuring real-time accuracy and safety in dynamic environments.

• Lead and collaborate on developing perception algorithms for the Aurora Driver.
• Research and develop deep learning models to enhance perception solutions in diverse scenarios.
• Develop verification and validation technologies for mapping and perception systems.
• Partner with online maps, simulation, and safety teams to ensure mapping technology readiness.
• Build infrastructure and tests to support deployment decisions for the Aurora Driver.
• Integrate, test, and deploy production-ready perception solutions into the Aurora Driver system.

• Excellent software engineering skills in Python and/or C
• Extensive experience in any deep learning framework, such as Py Torch
• Extensive experience in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or other relevant areas of Artificial Intelligence, as evidenced by industry experience or publication record
• Relevant industry experience prior work on self-driving vehicles, autonomy, and/or robotics projects
• Contributions to open source projects (desirable but not mandatory)
• Strong track record in any field related to machine learning, as evidenced by top-tier publications in conferences such as CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, IJCV, ICML, NeurIPS, JMLR, PAMI, RSS, IJRR, SIGGRAPH, TOG (desirable but not mandatory)

Work environment:
Hybrid work environment with in-office presence at least 3 days per week
