Software Engineer, CI​/CD

We are seeking a CI/CD Engineer passionate about Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment with a passion for AI tooling. Our team builds the systems that facilitate seamless automated testing and deployments, ensuring scalable and reliable delivery pipelines.

• Design, build, and operate systems which ensure Asana engineers are building and deploying high-quality products.
• Own every part of the improvements you make, from infrastructure changes through to front end interfaces.
• Advance your AI tooling experience in your day to day problem solving, decision making and be a force multiplier by integrating into Product infrastructure organization at Asana.
• Modernize our development, testing, and deployment tooling, tighten development iteration loops, and polish the development lifecycle experience.
• Solve scalability problems related to our development environment and build system.
• Iterating and making decisions around tooling standards for the entire engineering organization while enabling specific users to achieve specialized use-cases effectively

• 4+ years of professional experience in a CI/CD, Infrastructure or Software Engineering role.
• Expertise in CI/CD concepts and hands-on experience with at least one major CI/CD platform.
• Strong coding skills (e.g., Typescript, Python, Ruby, Bash, Go) to build custom tools and automation.
• Proven experience working with AI tooling and integrations (eg: Claude, Cursor, MCP servers).
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.
• Solid understanding of Docker and container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes.
• A genuine passion for making other developers' lives better. You should be a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills and a customer-centric attitude.
• You should enjoy working with cross-functional teams and rolling out changes that can impact the entire engineering organization.
• Experience with building internal developer platforms or tools.
• Understanding of progressive delivery techniques such as feature flags, blue-green deployments, and canary releases.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Sentry).
• A portfolio or examples of personal projects focused on developer tooling or automation.
• Active contributor to open source projects or previous experience with large-scale software development at a leading tech company.

This role is based in our San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. Along with most Asanas, you’ll work from this office in person on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $216,000 - $223,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.
