About Us

Castix LLC is an indie game studio developing a large-scale medieval fantasy MMORPG rich in story, exploration, and magic. We are seeking a Unity Software Developer Intern to join our Client Development team. This role offers hands‑on experience contributing directly to the development and refinement of our Unity‑based game client.

Interns will work alongside experienced developers to bring immersive systems to life, enhance user experience, and polish gameplay features. This is a part‑time, remote position with flexible hours, ideal for individuals looking to deepen their Unity and C# skills in a real‑world production environment.

Responsibilities

As a Unity Software Developer Intern, you will:

  • Contribute to the development, improvement, and maintenance of the Unity game client using C#
  • Build and refine client‑side systems, including UI components, gameplay mechanics, tools, and other interactive features
  • Collaborate with the team to understand technical requirements, plan features, and deliver polished, well‑documented code
  • Use Trello for project/task management and maintain regular updates for visibility and coordination
  • Follow Git version control best practices, contributing clean and trackable code
  • Troubleshoot and solve development challenges with a self‑driven, resourceful approach
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Proficiency with Unity and C#
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities, technical curiosity, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and communicate effectively with a distributed team
  • Bonus: Experience working on games, especially in areas like optimization, UI/UX, or shaders
  • Bonus: Familiarity with medieval fantasy games, MMORPGs, or online multiplayer mechanics
  • Fully remote with flexible hours
  • Interns must use their own equipment
  • This is an unpaid internship, but may be eligible for academic credit
  • Each intern will be paired with a senior developer/mentor for guidance and support

By the end of the internship, participants will have contributed directly to a production MMORPG project, built a meaningful technical portfolio, and gained valuable experience in collaborative game development workflows.
