Data Science Manager, AI Engineer
The role involves leading the development and execution of AI-driven process improvement solutions for major energy and utility companies, focusing on operational efficiency, strategic transformation, and value realization through data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and solution architecture.
Key Responsibilities- Act as an architect for SaaS adoption work streams within energy and utility accounts, building data-driven business cases with AI and automation solutions
- Link Process Intelligence platform to operational and financial outcomes for energy operators and utility providers
- Manage end-to-end value journey, including enterprise health checks and facilitating workshops with C-suite and field leads
- Identify, analyze, and map energy operations to AI-driven improvement use cases
- Architect solutions connecting data across the energy value chain for predictive maintenance, supply chain optimization, and automation
- Construct data-backed business cases with ROI projections and investment estimates
- Develop demos, value narratives, and ROI frameworks for stakeholder presentations
- Conduct customer value discovery and proof-of-value projects
- Design and deploy AI-powered feedback systems to surface operational themes and friction points
- Guide process redesigns to address bottlenecks, ensuring compliance and automation
- Facilitate workshops to benchmark capabilities and define success metrics
- Lead customer discovery, pilot programs, and onboard users across locations
- Present executive business cases to secure new revenue opportunities
- Build tools for assessing automation opportunities across assets
- Mentor team members and design scalable operational processes
- Provide product feedback based on AI agent development and API integration
- Manage the entire value realization process, including business case development and MVP delivery
- Deliver multi-year strategic transformation roadmaps
- Drive innovation through feedback to product development teams
- 10 years of experience in the Energy sector Oil Gas or Utilities.
- Experience in Management Consulting Strategy Operations Transformation is required.
- Deep industry knowledge of asset lifecycle management, upstream downstream operations, grid modernization, and the broader energy value chain.
- Proven track record of managing the full customer lifecycle, including landing new accounts, expanding footprint through strategic upselling, and driving long-term value to ensure high Net Revenue Retention (NRR), organic advocacy, and sustained SaaS growth.
- Track record of identifying operational inefficiencies and driving them to resolution, with the ability to impact the P&L and manage Capex Opex through process improvement, AI integration, and scalable technology deployment.
- Good knowledge of Business Software SaaS applications and Enterprise Asset Management systems such as SAP S/4
HANA, IBM Maximo, AVEVA, GE Digital APM. - Experience with data visualization, SQL, Python, or deploying Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI models is a strong plus.
- Experience presenting to and working with senior stakeholders, with the ability to navigate complex internal structures and clearly communicate SaaS value and complex AI concepts to non-technical audiences from the boardroom to the control room.
- Degree B.S. or M.S. in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Electrical, Energy Management, Computer Science, or Industrial Operations Engineering).
- Additional certifications in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Data Analytics are highly preferred.
- Ability to work with ambiguity, adapt to a rapidly evolving AI landscape, and set direction within an account team to achieve results.
