About VirioVirio is building the content engine for AI-native executives, and an engine is only as good as the foundation it runs on.
Every insight, playbook, and asset we generate sits on top of infrastructure that has to stay fast and reliable as we grow, even as generation workloads get heavier and the user base expands.
We're backed by operators from Linked In, You Tube, Hub Spot, Rippling, and Google. We've added $1M ARR in 30 days. And the way we think about content generation, agentic systems, and human-in-the-loop workflows doesn't have an established playbook.
We're looking for a Founding Infrastructure Engineer to build and scale that foundation: the systems, pipelines, and tooling that keep Virio fast and reliable as we grow to more users.
What You’ll DoAs our Founding Infrastructure Engineer, you'll own the systems everything else runs on: the distributed services, data stores, search and caching layers, and platform tooling that let us scale without breaking. You'll keep the product fast and reliable as load grows, and architect the foundation the rest of engineering builds on.
- Own Virio's core infrastructure end to end
, from compute and orchestration to networking and deployment, and scale it as our user base grows - Architect and operate our distributed systems for reliability, performance, and cost, designing for the next order of magnitude rather than today's load
- Build and tune the search, indexing, and caching layers that keep the product fast as data volume grows
- Own our data infrastructure
: databases, data flows, and the systems that keep them performant under load - Stand up the platform tooling, observability, and on-call practices that let a small team ship and operate with confidence
- Partner with product and engineering, including the harness and AI teams, to make sure our infrastructure scales with the demands of AI-driven workloads
- Make the architecture decisions that determine how we manage state, expose capability, and keep latency low across the platform
- The systems you own stay fast and reliable as we scale; the infrastructure just works, and the rest of the team rarely has to think about it
- You see scaling and reliability problems before they reach users, and you solve them at the root instead of patching symptoms
- You balance speed with rigor; you ship infrastructure changes fast without putting reliability at risk
- Your systems are clean and well-architected; they hold up as load grows by orders of magnitude without forcing a rewrite
- You take full ownership of the systems everything runs on; you don't wait for permission to fix what you see breaking
- High agency & self-direction – Acts without waiting for requirements or detailed instructions
- Small-team intensity comfort – Comfortable working intensely and closely with a small, high-output team
- Unorthodox problem solving – Sees non-obvious paths forward and challenges conventional approaches
- Quality-driven execution – Detail-oriented with high standards for correctness and quality
- Low ego & accountability – Takes full ownership and accountability for outcomes
- Work directly with the founders
- Competitive total compensation aligned to impact and ownership
- Meaningful equity upside as part of the founding team
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) plan
- All working meals covered
- Relocation support for San Francisco
- Company-wide annual off-site
- High ownership, high trust, and fast career progression alongside world-class client partners
- In-person culture with deep commitment to excellence
This is a full-time, on-site role based in San Francisco. We do not offer hybrid or remote positions.
