AI Engineer (Applied/Software)
The opportunity
Productboard is seeking an Associate GTM Engineer. This is a unique role where most of the requirements are flexible but the fundamental core skillset required is a builder’s mindset with the ability to learn, deploy, and organize new technologies and platforms. The ideal candidate is not necessarily someone with many years of experience, because much of the tech stack you will own may not have existed a year ago.
If your career is just getting started but you have a history of building interesting things and constantly learning new technology, this is the role for you.
The gap between professionals who are building with AI daily and those who are still watching is widening fast. At Productboard, you won’t just use AI tools. You will shape the architecture that makes AI agents effective, define the workflows that make them reliable, and build the evaluation systems that make them trustworthy. You will work in an environment where AI first is not a future aspiration.
It is the current standard. The skills you build here—agent native design, multi-model orchestration, eval-driven development, AI-ready codebase architecture—are the skills that will define senior engineering for the next decade.
- Build or buy GTM technology solutions for the entire GTM organization—marketing, sales, and post-sales—to massively scale the team’s effectiveness.
- Conceive and deploy agents for GTM motions such as outbound, inbound, lifecycle marketing, customer engagement, customer surveys, ABX, etc.
- Educate and enable the GTM team on newly deployed technologies and agents.
- Organize system integrations and data hygiene to optimize for clean LLM inputs.
- Support stakeholders with end-to-end campaign execution including list uploads, audience segmentation, asset management, email builds, A/B testing, evals, and deployment.
- You have built something interesting. Show us what you’ve made!
- Highly detail-oriented with demonstrated skills in project management.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships, listen, communicate, influence, and collaborate cross-team at all organizational levels.
- Highly motivated, collaborative, and team-oriented.
- Fluent English (company communication language).
- Experience or fluency in Python, SQL, REST, AWS.
- Understanding of B2B go-to-market motions. Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation platform concepts such as Salesforce, Marketo, Hubspot, etc.
- Experience with AI-enabled technologies in the GTM stack such as Clay, Piper/Qualified, Gong, Salesforce Agentforce, Zapier, Workato, n8n, etc.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco area is $120,000 to $150,000. In addition to the base pay, this role is eligible for competitive equity awards and benefits.
