Job Description
Senior Data Engineer – Data Architecture Lead at IEX/GDIT, located in Fort Bragg, NC. This hybrid role requires an existing DoD TS/SCI clearance and US citizenship. The position involves developing and managing data pipelines, micro‑services, and data architecture for classified mission systems.
Salary range: $111,350 – $150,650 (actual rate determined by experience and location).
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and implement data pipelines and ETL processes using Python, Airflow, and NiFi.
- Build scalable micro‑services for data handling and transformation suitable for high‑volume ingestion.
- Curate, cleanse, and secure data to support accurate transfers across classification levels.
- Develop solutions for batch and streaming processing, integrating data lakes, warehouses, and databases.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver mission‑critical data requirements.
- Ensure adherence to data‑handling best practices and security compliance for classified datasets.
- Apply data visualization techniques to make data accessible and actionable for mission teams.
- 8+ years of related experience in data engineering, database engineering, or enterprise data architecture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (advanced degree a plus).
- Current DoW TS/SCI clearance (required). Candidates without clearance will not be considered.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL (PostgreSQL, T‑SQL), Git, Docker, and working in Linux environments.
- Experience with Airflow, NiFi, Trino, Elastic Search, AWS Open Search, Kubernetes, Helm, Argo, and data lake/warehouse concepts.
- Knowledge of database optimization and graph database management.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in cross‑functional teams.
- US citizenship required.
Hybrid work with 3 days on site in Fort Bragg and 2 days working from home. 40 scheduled weekly hours, no travel required.
