Job Summary:

Optum Services, Inc. is part of the United Health Group family, focused on improving healthcare for everyone. They are seeking a Software Engineer to research, design, and develop software, ensuring high standards of performance and security while collaborating with product teams and participating in agile processes.

Responsibilities:

• Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs.

• Work as a part of our core engineering team to ensure the highest standards of design, implementation, performance, and security.

• Work closely with the product team to ensure all customer needs are met.

• Design and build upcoming new features.

• Support and extend existing features.

• Participate in agile ceremonies, including daily stand ups and sprint retrospectives.

• Contribute to team planning and improvement processes.

• Review requirements and develop technical solutions to meet requirements.

• Assist in the development and maintenance of REST APIs using different Java Frameworks, ensuring to best practices in API design.

• Work with data providers and API consumers to clarify requirements and remove roadblocks.

• Provide innovative solutions to technical challenges.

• Build and deploy framework components to achieve automated testing goals for the team.

• Drive automation into everyday activities and deliver high quality high performing solutions.

• Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing sessions.

• Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.

• Utilize cloud platforms (like AWS) for deploying and maintaining applications.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

• two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer-related occupation

• two (2) years of experience in Programming

Languages:

Java and SQL

• two (2) years of experience in Frameworks:
Spring and Hibernate

• two (2) years of experience in Databases:
MySQL, SQL Databases, Mongo Databases, or No

SQL Databases

• two (2) years of experience in Cloud Services: AWS or Azure

• two (2) years of experience in Build Tools:
Maven

• two (2) years of experience in Version Control: GIT

• two (2) years of experience in Logging & Monitoring:
Splunk or Grafana
