Senior AI Software Engineer ( Python / Agent Core / Terraform / AWS )

Optomi, in partnership with a leading Energy & Utilities client, is seeking a Senior Agentic AI Software Engineer! This is a hybrid position with a 4 DAY WORK WEEK
! The team works 4x10s, meaning 4 days of 10 hour workdays.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Software Engineer with a strong background in AWS AI development stack, including Agent Core. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting‑edge solutions that leverage AI to transform business processes and customer experiences. You will design, build, and optimize complex systems in a data‑centric environment, collaborating across teams and wearing multiple hats to deliver innovative solutions.

• Local to Optimist Hall and comfortable with hybrid structure
• MUST MEET the Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 requirement.
• 5+ years of AWS Software Engineering experience.
• Proven and Professional hands‑on expertise in:
• Python, Terraform, AWS Glue, Lambda, and API development.
• Comfortable working in a data‑centric environment and managing multiple responsibilities.
• Experience with Agentic AI development and AI-driven solutions.

• Design and build highly complex AI-enabled software solutions using Agile, XP, and TDD practices.
• Develop scalable applications and APIs leveraging AWS services (Lambda, Glue, etc.) and Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Write efficient, well-structured Python code for AI workflows and cloud integrations.
• Collaborate with data engineers, product owners, and other developers to deliver impactful solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, paired programming, and mentor junior team members.
• Translate complex AI concepts into manageable user stories and technical deliverables.
• Optimize data pipelines and ensure robust integration with cloud platforms.
• Provide technical guidance on AI architecture and best practices for sustainability and security.
