Jr. Front-End Web Developer

Position Overview

As a Jr. Front-End Web Developer, you’ll team up with others in various stacks  will build the GraphQL and cloud infrastructure that powers our app and work with data stored in MySQL and Solr on AWS. With a continuous integration and rapid development stack, you’ll deploy tested, peer‑reviewed code to production on your first day.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, GPA above 3.5.
• Part‑time, volunteer, or internship programming experience is required.
• Experience in front‑end web development (JavaScript, React, etc.) is desired.
• Working knowledge of server‑side MVC frameworks such as Symfony or Rails.
• Strong background in SQL and relational databases.
• Background with HTTP API design, including JSON‑RPC, REST, and GraphQL.
• Experience with unit testing and continuous integration.

• Collaborate with frontend and backend teams to design, build, and maintain web and mobile applications using React and React Native.
• Develop GraphQL services and cloud infrastructure that powers the Nutshell product.
• Write and maintain SQL queries, manage MySQL and Solr data stores, and monitor performance on AWS.
• Participate in code reviews, write unit tests, and adhere to continuous integration practices.
• Deploy peer‑reviewed, tested code to production daily.
• Contribute to improving development workflows and tooling.

• PHP, Symfony, Nginx, MySQL, Solr, Gearman, managed on AWS with Ansible.
• React, React Native, Redux, Webpack for web and mobile frontend tooling.
• Docker for local development.
• Git Hub for code management and review.
• Jenkins for continuous integration.
