The Role at a GlanceLincoln National Corporation seeks a Sr. Software Engineer/Tech Lead in Greensboro, NC.
ResponsibilitiesThis role will deliver industry‑leading functionality while modernizing technology through cloud migrations, Dev Ops, and other advancements. The responsibilities include:
- Driving delivery and oversight of application development activities (solution proposals, architectural decisions, designs, build activities).
- Practicing and promoting engineering practices such as Dev Ops (CI/CD), 12‑factor design, independent architecture.
- Collaborating with Federated and Enterprise Architecture to set strategic direction on application design and development.
- Designing, developing, and deploying technology and architecture across the business.
- Developing business cases, solution plans, business process models, logical system designs, and estimating.
- Building and testing applications on AWS, J2EE, microservices, RESTful APIs with code coverage, unit tests, security scans, performance testing, UAT support, and production deployment under an Agile framework.
- Maintaining knowledge of industry trends, especially around AWS, microservices, and Dev Ops, and advising senior management on incorporating them.
- Leading change management and departmental initiatives and supporting IT partners to increase self‑service adoption.
- Implementing process improvements to improve quality, reduce defects, shorten code turnaround, and secure delivery.
- Providing technical subject matter expertise to team members and stakeholders.
- Leading production issue responses and coordinating delivery of solutions.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. 5+ years of experience in developing and supporting Java‑based, service‑oriented solutions.
- 5 years as a tech lead on an Agile development team.
- Proficiency in Java, J2EE, microservices, Docker, Mulesoft, RESTful APIs, and Git Lab CI/CD pipelines.
- Full‑cycle AWS development experience including S3, DynamoDB, RDS, IAM, Secrets Manager, Certificate Manager, Cloud Front, API Gateway, Step Functions, SNS, Event Bridge, Glue, CDK, Cloud Formation, and Serverless.
$140,587 – $171,000, with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range. Pay is based on non‑discriminatory factors and may exceed the range as permitted by law.
