Location:

Job Description:

The Video Insights team at our Fortune 500 client is hiring an AI‑Focused Software Engineer to design, build, and deploy AI‑powered tools and workflows that make their analysts, engineers, and QA teams more effective. This is a hands‑on build role. You will work from a growing backlog of prioritized use cases with solid requirements handed off by the team, then own the how: designing the solution, building it, and handing it back to the respective team for ongoing maintenance.

Think of it as a software engineering lifecycle applied to AI -- scope, build, monitor, improve. The team has already shipped AI solutions in production (automated test case generation, merge request tooling) and is accelerating.

Skills:
  • Hands‑on experience building with LLMs -- prompt engineering, agent frameworks, tool‑use patterns, or RAG systems
  • AWS experience with demonstrated knowledge of AWS services, particularly Athena; AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification required (can be obtained quickly after start if not already held)
  • Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol) or similar agent‑tool integration patterns -- on‑the‑job learning expected given the newness of the space
  • SQL and data platform fluency -- all use cases live in the data platform space
  • Strong debugging skills across distributed systems, data pipelines, and AI agent workflows
  • Ability to translate loosely defined team needs into scoped, working software
Day to Day:
  • Pick up scoped use cases from the AI backlog -- requirements are provided by the team; you own the technical approach and build end‑to‑end
  • Build AI agents that assist at each stage of the development lifecycle, from requirements and architecture review through coding, testing, debugging, and deployment
  • Develop and maintain MCP servers that connect AI tools to the Video Insights data ecosystem, giving agents real context about data, schemas, and business logic
  • Automate repetitive tasks across analytics requirements gathering, data validation, job monitoring, and Tableau reporting
  • Build agents that detect pipeline failures, read logs, surface root causes, and recommend fixes
  • Integrate AI tooling with the team's existing platforms -- Jira, Confluence, Git Lab, Athena, and Tableau -- to reduce context switching
  • Develop data quality monitoring agents that detect anomalies and assess downstream lineage impact
  • Write clean, tested, documented code -- this team has not had dedicated SWEs before, so you will be setting the engineering standards
  • Work within AWS infrastructure (Athena, EMR, S3, Lambda) and integrate with the team's existing data stack
Interview Process:
  • Phone & Video Screen w/ Brooksource. One onsite interview w/ client that will include a presentation and panel interview. There will be a take home homework assignment to create the presentation
Team Size:

The video insights org is a 45‑person team that includes insight engineers, data developers, Tableau developers, and QA/test engineers. This role sits in the AI vertical and will collaborate across the full org depending on the use case being built.
