Remote Senior Java Developer

Apex Systems is looking for a qualified individual to fill an immediate opening for a Remote Senior Java Developer. Please see the job description below for details of the role.

• Perform analysis of existing solutions, formulate requirements, perform coding, and test and debugging
• Use your communication and customer service skills to provide support and troubleshooting for production solutions, and recommend changes in development, maintenance, and standards using Agile development best-practices
• Contribute to the development, testing, implementation, and review of complex solutions that reside and are executed in a Java environment
• Provide programming support for complex solutions, develop software from established requirements, appropriately deploy code, and offer insight on the feasibility of system designs
• Contribute to the design of technology infrastructure and configurations, recommend process improvements
• Review complex patches and new versions of applications
• Implement complex software packages and deploy code
• Compile and maintain technical documentation, including use cases and scripts; conduct technical research and maintain viable knowledge of technology trends
• Participate in cross-functional team initiatives and process improvement projects

• 6+ years in Java back-end development
• Strong development leveraging Java, Spring Boot
• Web Services- RESTful Web Services
• Experience working with cloud solutions in AWS (EC2 at a minimum)
• Experienced in creating and implementing development Best Practices, Policies, Mentoring peer developers, and enhancing team workflow.
• Use of JavaScript technologies helpful
• Familiar with Continuous Integration Solutions such as Jenkins
• Familiarity with SQL is helpful but not required

This project will last for 4 months with a possible extension. The Sr. Java Developer will be working as one of the lead developers on a project supporting the end client that is providing Software as a Service. They will be working with a team of around 8 individuals to drive the company's solution forward. The client does not provide any form of visa sponsorship.
